The 2024 Craft Butcher Expo took place on Sunday 28 January at The Curragh Racecourse in County Kildare, Ireland. This trade fair focuses primarily on companies that supply butchers, shops and restaurants with seasonings with which they can enhance the flavour and value of their meat products. A wide selection of Dutch Spices’ inclusive seasonings could be tasted on the very busy stand of the Company’s Irish partner.
We accept we have a responsibility to operate in a sustainable manner and, in line with our vision and societal involvement, continuously seek the perfect balance between social, economic and environmental interests.
A focus on people
We do not accept child labour. Including in respect of our suppliers. We offer people with poor employment prospects an appropriate working environment. We have established cooperation and apprenticeship agreements with local schools. We encourage our employees to contribute their ideas and to accept personal responsibility.
We fully support the personal development of our employees. To give young people an idea of the employment possibilities offered by a professional industrial company we regularly organise tours by educational institutions. By doing this we are contributing towards alleviating the impending shortage of workers in the food industry.
Health is considered important In our organisation. This is why we offer our employees free fruit every day and why preventative medical check-ups are carried out on a regular basis. Our products do not contain any AZO colourings and the reduction of salt and E-numbers are priorities for our Product Development department.
Sensor-controlled automatic switching on and off of the lighting in our premises reduces our energy usage and heat recovered from the compressors is used to heat the building’s entrance hall. To prevent air leakage the air compressors in the production areas fitted with shut-off valves and monthly air leakage checks are carried out on every machine.
By basing our CSR policy on the ISO26000 standard guidelines we are ensuring we are doing our best for people and the planet now and in the future.
Looking after our planet
All waste streams within our company are separated. Monitoring and controlling peaks in steam usage by metering the refrigeration compressors enables the set maximum values to be raised if necessary. The addition of enzymes reduces the pollution units in our wastewater. We only use paper made from raw material sourced from responsibly managed forests and all our packaging materials are food grade and comply with the legislation applicable for food. The focus of our vehicle fleet policy is on fuel-efficient and/or electric cars. This is how we are contributing towards a liveable planet.
