In November Butcher Westy was in the West Midlands region of England to give a demonstration focused on main dish sauces and side dish marinades.
Inspiration for fresh ready-meal concepts and traybakes
Last October Butcher Westy was in Benfleet, Essex, to meet the people from top-end butcher The Meat Joint Ltd. The team was looking for some inspiration for the preparation and presentation of fresh ready-meals and the popular traybakes.
Progress and variation
The Meat Joint Ltd has been offering ready-meals for a long time and presents them in its display counters. The team was very aware that customers’ wishes change and they have to stay up-to-date and offer variety. Butcher Westy helped them choose the right seasonings from Dutch Spices’ allergen-safe range.
Flavour and profit margin
During the demo Butcher Westy showed several surprising concepts for creating delicious fresh ready-meals. These meal concepts also took into account the preservation of traditional artisanal flavour, (current) consumer wishes and the profit margin on the dishes. The meatball concept using Dutch Spices tomato & herb sauce was especially successful. The concepts using Dutch Spices barbecue sauce smoked bull, Dutch Spices Thai-style green curry sauce, Dutch Spices tikka masala sauce and Dutch Spices pesto green marinade were also consumed with gusto by The Meat Joint Ltd team. In fact, saying that The Meat Joint Ltd was impressed by Butcher Westy’s ready-meal concepts would be an understatement.
