Dutch Spices’ halal products enables Muslims to enjoy delicious iftar and suhoor meals during Ramadan
Ramadan – the fasting period – always falls in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and this year will begin on 22 March and end on 20 April. During Ramadan Muslims fast every day between sunrise and sunset. As soon as the sun has gone down they break their fast with an evening meal, called iftar. As the time the iftar meal begins depends on the position of the sun and moon it changes day by day. Traditionally the end of Ramadan is celebrated with a three day long holiday called Eid al-Fitr during which families get together to enjoy the most delectable (often sweet) food and exchange presents.
Eating in accordance with halal guidelines
There are over two billion Muslims in the world, which makes Islam the second most practiced religion. Ramadan – the fasting month – is a very significant period in the Islamic calendar and a time in which eating in accordance with halal guidelines is especially important to a very large group of people. All Dutch Spices’ seasonings are produced in accordance with these halal guidelines and have a Halal Correct certificate. This makes all Dutch Spices’ herb and spice mixes, marinades and sauces ideal for making the most delicious halal recipes, including during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
